About the teaching material– aims, target group and organization

The aim of the F2G online teaching material is to provide theoretical perspectives, hands-on learning and a variety of lecturers. on the role food plays in creating public spaces, shaping opportunities for communication and relations between places and the peoples that inhabit them.

The teaching material targets teachers, but also practitioners such as social workers, activists, and the broader public. The teaching material is an online resource that is available free of charge on Canvas, a learning platform hosted by OsloMet University which allows everyone to access these resources. The material combines videos and texts with input with engaging questions that create a possibility to process and reflect. The material can be used for individual learning or embedded in real-time teaching. It can also be used by as inspiration for conducting similar activities in the community. The material is organized into modules and includes a welcoming module as an introduction, a theoretical module on the concept of foodscapes, a method module on how to engage with civil society through hybrid forums, and examples from the F2G project showing how initiatives around food and public spaces can be put into practice.
